In a few previous articles, we already announced the arrival of the eagerly awaited smartwatch called Amazfit GTS 2 mini. At first, we thought it would be a trimmed-down version of the adult GTS 2, however, one of the main differences is only the display size.
Therefore, the “mini” label really indicates only a smaller display diagonal, while all the important specifications—except for Wi‑Fi connectivity—remain preserved. You’ll also be pleased by the lower price, which again proves that Amazfit simply knows what it’s doing in the field of wearables.

The difference in watch size is noticeable at first glance. Compared to the adult GTS 2, with a diagonal of 1.65″ and dimensions of 42.8 x 35.6 x 9.7 mm, the new GTS 2 mini come with a display size of 1.55″ and dimensions of 40.5 x 35.8 x 8.95 mm.
As far as color options go, as we also expected, the watches are available in three colors. We’re talking about black, green, and light-pink, with more bracelet color variants to follow in terms of availability. The watches are made from durable aluminum alloy and weigh a nice 19.5 g.
High-quality AMOLED display
It was expected that the display would be one of the areas where the price limits would show. But Amazfit proved us wrong, and the fresh GTS 2 mini come with an excellent AMOLED panel with a resolution of 354 x 306 pixels and a pixel density of 301 ppi per inch.
Packed with features
The newly introduced Amazfit GTS 2 mini watches come with a lot of useful functions. To correctly record activity, the manufacturer has built in several sensors that can handle various handy features.
On the sports side, the watches offer more than 70 types so everyone can find exactly what suits them. Of course, there is heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, measuring PAI values, and blood oxygen, as well as tracking the female menstrual cycle.
Besides that, the watches offer smart extras such as phone music control, the option to use the watch as a camera shutter, or paying with an NFC chip. But unfortunately, that’s only in mainland China.
The battery in the watches has a capacity of 220 mAh, which is 26 mAh less than the more advanced sibling. However, if we take into account the smaller resolution and display size, we’re getting to roughly the same battery life.
Fully charged, the watches can reach up to 14 days during normal use. In heavy use, they’ll keep going for still a very respectable 7 days, and with careful use you can get up to 21 days. Charging takes about 2 hours.
The price is great
The new Amazfit GTS 2 mini was launched on the domestic Chinese market at a price of just 699 yuan, which after conversion comes to approximately €88 / $106. The price is really great for the specs you get, and we’re already looking forward to when the watches are unveiled globally.
