In addition to its new watch, Amazfit GTR 2, the company Amazfit also officially announced the new smart watch Amazfit GTS 2 with premium craftsmanship.
These watches will also try to build on the success of their predecessor, which the company’s partner brand Xiaomi was very happy to highlight already at a press conference.
Amazfit GTS 2: Low weight and a square design like Apple Watch
At first glance, it’s clear that the design lines of the new watch come from the previous generation. The new model, labeled Amazfit GTS 2, is however thinner and lighter. The thickness of these watches is only 9.7 mm and the weight has stopped at 24.7 grams. These are improvements not only over the previous generation, but also over the competition.
Even in this case, there’s no shortage of fancy curved 3D protective glass, which rounds out the overall design of the watch.
The equipment includes an up to 1.65″ AMOLED display with a fine 341 ppi and a maximum brightness of 450 nits. You’ll also like the diamond carbon surface for scratch resistance.
Metal body and 12 sports activities
The watch body is made of metal materials in three color variants. In addition to metal materials, the watches also include glass and organic materials. The watches support automatic recognition of 12 sports activities; in the future, this activity is planned to be expanded to 90 sports.
As for health and sleep monitoring, or support for music features, this equipment is practically identical to the Amazfit GTR 2 watch. There’s also support for OxygenBeats, SomnusCare, RealBeats, as well as the well-known PAI health index. There won’t be any shortage of creative watch faces for the display either.
There’s also support for Wi-Fi technology for music transfer, as well as Bluetooth to connect with your smartphone for notifications. The equipment also includes GPS + GLONASS for localization and increased water resistance up to 50 meters.
Battery life of these watches in standard use mode is around 7 days; in battery-saving mode, it will then be extended up to 20 days.
Price and availability
The new Amazfit GTS 2 watches will be officially sold for 999 Chinese yuan. It’s a price for the domestic Chinese market, which in the current conversion is 125 € or 147 USD.
