Amazfit GTS 2e: Incoming smartwatches—we have the first details

Huami, which works with Xiaomi, has been busy in recent times developing premium smartwatches Amazfit Zepp Z. It seems this wasn’t the only smartwatch model it plans to unveil soon. Next up are Amazfit GTS 2e.

Amazfit GTS 2e on the horizon

The new model carries the number A2021. What exactly the 2021 stands for, we don’t know. Maybe the year when the watches are meant to be unveiled. They haven’t passed certification yet, so there isn’t much information. Leaks suggest it will be the Amazfit GTS 2e model.

Since the watches will belong to the Amazfit GTS family, we expect an attractive rectangular design, which will also be reflected in the display. Photos of the watch have not been shared yet, but we can already take a look at some items in the menu.

A colorful rectangular OLED display is almost certain

Screenshots show that the watches will come with a color display, most likely OLED. The watch features remain shrouded in mystery.

While the successor to the popular Amazfit GTS model has already been presented, this could be some kind of lighter version of it. It will likely come with a single hardware button on the right side, and increased water resistance (IP68) and a heart-rate sensor shouldn’t be missing either. There will definitely be a wide range of sports features, and GPS shouldn’t be left out either.

As for the features, the GTS 2e will probably be limited in some respects. So far we don’t know exactly what will be downgraded. Everything will become clear when it’s unveiled.

There’s no more information for now—we’ll just have to wait

We’ll have to wait a bit longer for more precise information about the upcoming smartwatch. We hope the manufacturer will unveil it still this year. It could be a very interesting Christmas gift. Considering the previous model’s price wasn’t high, it’s possible the new one will pleasantly surprise too.
