Popular smartwatches from Xiaomi’s partner brand, Amazfit GTS, are getting a new and premium version. It will be titanium, and its price versus the standard model will increase slightly. No wonder — the GTS watches are often compared to the well-known Apple Watch (5th generation), which are already available for sale in a titanium version as well.
Launch so far in China
The production of these watches is handled by Huami, and they are currently sold in six color versions, including in Europe. The new titanium variant was recently introduced in China, with titanium material replacing the aluminum body of the standard model. The new product will therefore be more solid and more resistant to scratches and corrosion.
The watch strap has also changed. The standard silicone strap has been replaced with a new rubber material. However, it’s a softer material that feels more comfortable on your skin and is also more resistant to dirt. This isn’t the first titanium model — in the past, you could try watches like Amazfit Stratos 3 with this material or the popular Amazfit GTR.
Same specs, higher price
The watches also feature a 1.65″ AMOLED display with 2.5D curved protective glass, monitoring for 12 sports, sleep, and heart rate, GPS, NFC, and water resistance up to 5ATM. You’ll also like the 220 mAh battery rated for two weeks of use.
The titanium version of the Amazfit GTS is expected to go on sale as early as 1 December / December 2019 through Chinese stores, including the YouPin stores platform. The new version will be sold for 1299 yuan, which comes to 167.85 euros / 4294 CZK. This is a price increase compared to the standard version of roughly 400 yuan, or 51.69 euros / 1322 CZK.
However, over time we expect the price to drop, along with the availability of discount coupons. In our editorial team, we can’t wait for the watches to be available from other sellers too.
As soon as the titanium Amazfit GTS are available, we’ll send you the coupon by email.
