The global coronavirus pandemic has affected the whole world, which is currently dealing with tough questions about economic problems. Although most companies are going through their worst times, not everyone is in the same boat.
For the Chinese company Xiaomi, which in recent months has been expanding sharply toward the West, things are going the other way instead—it’s doing the best among all major global manufacturers.
Beats Apple or Samsung
The analytics firm Canalys published a table comparing smartphone sales performance in the fourth quarter 2019 and the first quarter 2020. The results are more than surprising.
As you’ve surely figured out from the table, Chinese companies Xiaomi and Vivo are the only ones that recorded growth in global sales. While Xiaomi saw as much as 9% growth, Vivo managed 3%.
The other companies, together with the US-based Apple, South Korea’s Samsung, and China’s Huawei, suffered major losses, which were still expected.
In general, just like all other industries, the smartphone sales market has also taken a big hit. The coronavirus outbreak has taken its toll on every front.
Xiaomi companies are benefiting greatly from their ongoing expansion not only in Europe, but also in other parts of the world. Xiaomi is becoming more and more popular thanks to its great value for money.
