The latest developer version of the MIUI software has revealed new devices that Xiaomi plans to launch in the near future. Thanks to the work of a talented coder from the team at XDA-developers, we found out that we can look forward to Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition, Redmi Note 9, and Redmi 10X 4G.
New and unexpected smartphones hide the software
One of the most up-to-date software options in the smartphone segment is MIUI, without a doubt. Developers release new test ROMs on a weekly schedule. These software packages always bring some improvements—fixes that, after successful testing, also make it into stable software versions.
These developer versions of MIUI often have information about upcoming features, improvements, new hardware, and upcoming devices hidden in their code. Such secrets were also revealed by the latest developer version of MIUI 11 China Developer ROM.
By examining the code, a talented programmer known as „kacskrz“ managed to uncover information about Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition, Redmi Note 9, and Redmi 10X 4G.
Redmi K30 Pro / Zoom Edition
While the smartphone Redmi K30 Pro is in the works and, according to reports, should be announced this month, nobody among fans had any clue about its special edition. This is the very first time we’ll see a Xiaomi Group smartphone coming in a Zoom edition.
As the name of the new edition suggests, it should be the Redmi K30 Pro model with an enhanced ability to zoom in on objects when taking photos or creating video. For now, we don’t know the camera specs or even the base model, so it’s too early to speculate about the gear in this innovative edition.
Redmi Note 9
That the manufacturer will release the ninth version of the popular Redmi Note series is something we’re already taking for granted. After placing Redmi Note 7 among the top 10 smartphones of 2019, it achieved great results as well with the model Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro.
So many people expect that the coming “ninth” will be better in many ways, as long as it doesn’t show up in a higher price. The specs and release date of Redmi Note 9 are still a secret. However, we believe the new model will successfully ride the wave of the entire Redmi Note series’ success and will soon appear on the global market too.
Redmi 10X 4G
Probably the biggest surprise of this reveal is the name of the smartphone Redmi 10X 4G. Questions are raised by the letter „X”, which Xiaomi has used in the past, for example with models Mi 5X (a rebranded Mi A1), or Mi 6X (a rebranded Mi A2).
Further uncertainties lie in the numeric naming of the series. The expected one is a series of affordable Redmi 9 smartphones, so using a number ending in ten can cause confusion. And last but not least, the 4G label suggests that at some point we might also see Redmi 10X 5G.
