The new virus that has spread in the Chinese metropolis of Wu-Chan is extremely dangerous, and it has already been officially confirmed that it spreads from person to person. Among hundreds of infected patients, there are already cases in nearby European countries such as Sweden or France.
Are you worried that the virus could survive in your shipment ordered from China? We already know the answer to that question.
Virus in a shipment from China?
Many of us currently have a shipment on order from a Chinese warehouse from one of the popular online shops. That raises the logical question of whether a dangerous virus that caused the death of several people and led to severe respiratory difficulties in many more could survive in the shipment, or even inside the package contents. This is the view of an epidemiologist.
Xiaomi also doesn’t hesitate to provide help to the affected area. It offers substantial material assistance, but it also brings an update to the MIUI system. Its purpose is to warn you about the current dangerous virus.

Shipments are safe
Some countries like Serbia are increasing checks at their borders, and even China is trying to build a shocking new hospital for 1000 people in 6 days. So you definitely shouldn’t underestimate the virus. Still, an epidemiologist says that the current coronavirus is less dangerous than the deadly SARS virus from a few years ago.
“SARS appeared in 2002 and the fatality rate was 10 percent. The MERS virus appeared in 2012 and as many as a third of infected people died. Today, the fatality rate is below 2 percent. What’s interesting, though, is that there are similarities between viruses. The key question is whether the virus will mutate.” – continues Zoran Radovanovic.
Epidemiologist Radmilovic emphasizes that coronaviruses usually cause the common cold, which is not deadly. When deaths occur as a result of this type of virus, it’s probably a rare mutation.
Right now in our part of the world — and also with incoming shipments from China — we can stay calm. They are safe.
