Display: AMOLED 60 Hz vs IPS 120 Hz
A very important element when choosing a new smartphone is definitely the display panel used. In this case, it’s not only a face-off between an AMOLED panel and an IPS panel, but also between the standard 60 Hz and a high 120 Hz refresh rate.
When it comes to the smartphone Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, it offers a 6.57″ AMOLED panel with a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. The Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) in a 20:9 aspect ratio delivers a sharpness of 401 ppi.
This display features a drop-shaped notch for the front camera and takes up more than 85% of the front panel. It will offer a maximum brightness of 430 nits, HDR10+, and also protective Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The new device branded Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G offers a 6.67″ IPS panel, but with a modern and high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The resolution is the same—Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels)—and the aspect ratio is also the same at 20:9.
The IPS panel takes up more than 84% of the front panel, has a cutout for the front camera, and delivers sharpness of 395 ppi. It also doesn’t miss HDR10, up to 450 nits brightness, and protective Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
If we had to name just one winner, it would be the newer panel with 120 Hz technology. Even though it’s an IPS panel and has lower sharpness, the technology is genuinely noticeable in the final user experience.
Also, Xiaomi’s new IPS displays are extremely high quality, which we’ve already seen proven by the budget-friendly model POCO X3 NFC. However, it makes perfect sense to choose the older model as well—whether from the price perspective or based on previous experiences with an AMOLED panel.
Performance: Snapdragon 765G vs 750G
In terms of performance, the original model Mi 10 Lite 5G uses a 7 nm processor Snapdragon 765G, paired with the Adreno 620 graphics chip, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 / 128 / 256 GB of internal storage. The smartphone has no issues with apps and mobile games from the Play Store, and its performance—as well as the graphics experience—is smooth.
The newer smartphone Mi 10T Lite 5G will also come with a newer processor. It’s the 8 nm Snapdragon 750G, which places this smartphone in the mid-range. No Adreno 619 graphics chip is missing, along with 6 GB of RAM and 64 / 128 GB of internal storage.
Both devices have processors from the 700 series, and both processors are also very good, offering sufficient and comparable performance in the mid-range or upper-mid-range. Another advantage of both devices is enough RAM and support for fast 5G connectivity thanks to the processors used.
Camera: 48 MPx vs 64 MPx
That said, you can already see an upgrade in the camera department. The older model comes with a 48 MPx main sensor, complemented by a 8 MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2 MPx macro sensor, and a 2 MPx depth sensor. There’s also 4K video and a 16 MPx front camera placed in the notch.
The new Mi 10T Lite 5G will offer up to a 64 MPx main sensor, complemented by a 8 MPx ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2 MPx macro sensor, and a 2 MPx depth sensor. It also offers 4K video and a 16 MPx front camera placed in a cutout in the display.
In this category as well, we’ll favor the updated model Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G with improved technical equipment. At the same time, it’s necessary to say that a real comparison with test photos will give us a better look at this pair of devices.
You can view the test photos from the older smartphone marked Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G via the following link.
Battery: 4160 vs 4820 mAh
The battery capacity of the Mi 10 Lite 5G smartphone has topped out at 4160 mAh. The phone also offers fast 20W charging with the Quick Charge 4+ standard and a 22.5W adapter included right in the box.
The upgrade comes in the form of the Mi 10T Lite 5G, which includes a battery with a total capacity of up to 4820 mAh. Fast charging is also updated here, and it’s available at 33W.
The higher battery capacity on the second mentioned smartphone is a logical step, especially from the perspective of a higher display refresh rate. A newer processor and suitable optimization, however, can also deliver better battery life on a single charge for this specific phone.
Price and availability
Availability of the cheaper Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G model from international retailers is very good, and the price of this device currently starts at around 249 € / 292 USD (depending on the version).

Final verdict: Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G vs Mi 10T Lite 5G
When it comes to paper specs, the newer (and more expensive) model Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G will probably win this showdown. The choice, though, is always up to you.
Your first choice needs to be the difference between an AMOLED and an IPS panel, as well as the refresh rate 60 Hz vs. 120 Hz. Then there’s the different processor, the main camera, and also the battery capacity.
So if the Mi 10T Lite 5G model shows up in the listings of international retailers, we definitely recommend the investment and the extra cost for the updated model.
On the other hand, if you want to save yourself a few euros, the older model Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G is still on sale—and it still has plenty to offer.
