Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi surprised us at today’s press conference with a brand-new release. And that is the intelligent humanoid robot CyberOne, which offers high-quality optics and joints in its limbs, and even stands up to a height of 177 cm.
Humanoid CyberOne: Xiaomi continues making robots
When it comes to futuristic intelligent products, this isn’t Xiaomi’s first move. You’ll surely remember the robotic dog CyberDog, which is already displayed in a brick-and-mortar store in Europe. This model is now complemented by a new intelligent robot.
It is an intelligent humanoid with flexible limbs and the label CyberOne, which—just like CyberDog—wants to compete with popular products from the American company Boston Dynamics, or even Tesla.
As explained by Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, the CyberOne robot can “detect emotions” thanks to the Mi Sense system, and it can move at a speed of 3.6 km/h. According to technical details, CyberOne has 21 parts or joints that allow it to move freely. This lets it squat, wave its arms, and perform other simple commands.
The Chinese company posted a challenge on the social network Weibo, so fans of the brand can come up with different ideas for functions or skills that CyberOne could offer in the future. We don’t have any further information yet about availability or even the selling price. That’s because CyberOne is still under development. This is understandable, considering that a similar scenario was also behind the start of the CyberDog robot.
The artist name of the first prototype that was available at the press conference is “Tie Da”. CyberOne, its presentation from the press conference, as well as some kind of “demo” pieces in cooperation with Xiaomi’s CEO, you can check out in the video below.
This is what the CyberOne robot looks like in real-life size in the video:
