Xiaomi has become known in the mobile phone market for offering great-value devices with a solid set of features. But their Mi MIX series devices prove that the company can stir things up even among the premium smartphone class.
We expect a new model from the Mi MIX series this year
The latest representative of this series is the Mi MIX 3 model, which was launched in November / in November 2018 and introduced an unusual sliding design. This standout model also received an upgrade at the beginning of this year — in the form of the Mi MIX 3 5G with the Snapdragon 855 chip and support for 5G mobile networks.
Since the annual period is coming to an end soon, it’s understandable that a new Mi MIX model is eagerly awaited.
Another Xiaomi smartphone on the horizon
New 5G mobile phone from Xiaomi – an as-yet unknown model – recently passed the CCC certification process. This is a mandatory certificate from the China National Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) before the new phone can be released to the market.
The model is identified by the code M1908F1XE. In addition to 5G mobile network support, it should also bring fast charging with power up to 45 W. Based on this information, it’s expected that this could be the new Mi MIX 4.
The 45 W fast-charging technology may use input parameters of 20V / 2.25A or even 10V / 4A. If that’s really the case, it would be a major step closer to the experimental charging technology with power up to 100 W.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi teased this supercharge news with a demonstration video on social media Weibo.
Currently, the most powerful Xiaomi phones — Xiaomi Mi 9 or Redmi K20 Pro — support fast charging with power of 27 W. Even though it’s still a long way from super-fast charging, 45 watts doesn’t sound nearly as unrealistic and could practically be built into the latest premium smartphone.
Will it be Mi MIX 4?
As for the certified device M1908F1XE, there’s currently no indication that it’s actually the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 model, nor what its next specs will be. However, it should be a premium model that includes support for 5G mobile networks and fast charging.
