The CEO of Xiaomi outlined his vision for this year as well as the years ahead in a recently published letter to employees.

Year 2023 will be key

The letter that Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, sent to his employees offers a rough picture of what 2023 could look like for the company. The manufacturer is getting ready for one of its most important periods ever.

According to the CEO, the brand Xiaomi is standing on the threshold of a new era of innovation. The company wants to push the tech world forward again with new technological breakthroughs, which could theoretically include its own electric car.

The next 2 to 3 years will be crucial for Xiaomi. The manufacturer plans to place even greater emphasis on the quality of its devices, but development and innovation can’t be left behind. Xiaomi is aware that falling asleep on its laurels during this period could have very serious consequences for the brand.

The economic crisis hasn’t spared the Chinese giant either. Besides several personnel changes within the leadership of individual Xiaomi departments, the company recently laid off almost 10% of its employees. The manufacturer was forced to minimize its expenses, and one of the ways is exactly reducing the number of employees.
