The global version of Xiaomi 12 Pro has already passed the certification office and even the most well-known performance test

The Xiaomi 12 series was introduced in the Chinese market only a few days before the end of the year. We’ve been waiting for a long time for when Xiaomi will finally get things moving and launch smartphones on the global market too. The specific model Xiaomi 12 Pro has passed FCC certification.

The market launch is getting closer

FCC certification reveals support for 5G bands. On top of that, there’s support for Wi‑Fi 6E technology, and the smartphone won’t miss an NFC chip either to enable contactless payments via Google Pay.

Inside, following the Chinese version, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 5G connectivity will run. The Geekbench performance test result is quite low, which means the smartphone isn’t yet optimized enough for the global market.

The tested configuration had 12 GB of RAM and Android 12 was built on the MIUI 13 custom skin. The base version of Xiaomi 12 Pro should have 8 GB of RAM, but that’s not mentioned anywhere in the database, so we’re basing our expectations on what we saw in the Chinese market.

The base model Xiaomi 12 that ran Geekbench had 8 GB of RAM and the score was also lower than we expected, but here it will be the same optimization issue for the global market. Don’t worry—these shortcomings will definitely be fixed before the official launch.

Will it be February?

All these clues could indicate that the launch for the global market is indeed very close. We expect that the company will publish more detailed information in the coming weeks, while the conference could be organized sometime during February.
