The new Xiaomi 15 flagship series should be unveiled as early as this month; specifically, it’s said to be on the 20. October date. The unveiling in its home China should bring at least two models: the base Xiaomi 15 and also the upgraded Xiaomi 15 Pro, for which we learned new details.

It’s expected that the flagships in this series will be powered by a new processor—Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite, as the official name of this chipset will sound. The Xiaomi 15 Pro model will likely be the second best-equipped phone in this lineup (after Xiaomi 15 Ultra), and its battery should have a capacity of up to 6 000 mAh.

Leaked design concepts of Xiaomi 15 Pro

Shortly before the official launch, leaked images appeared online that reveal the phone’s design. According to information shared by the SmartPrix portal, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has a very similar design to its predecessor, Xiaomi 14 Pro.

However, the changes relate to the camera module on the back, where the flash was moved outside the sensor area. The camera still uses a square module with a three-lens system and laser autofocus. The new model is reportedly available in three color variants: black, white, and silver, and a special titanium version will also appear.

Although we don’t know the exact dimensions yet, the phone should be lighter than its predecessor Xiaomi 14 Pro, despite having a larger battery.

We also know the key hardware

Xiaomi 15 Pro should feature a 6,78-inch 2K AMOLED display curved on all four sides, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is slightly higher than Xiaomi 14 Pro’s 6,73-inch screen.

The device will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, along with up to 16 GB RAM and internal storage of 1 TB. The camera system should consist of a 50 MPx main sensor from the Light Fusion 900 series, a 50 MPx ultra-wide lens, and a new Sony IMX50 858 MPx telephoto lens with 5-times optical zoom and the ability to capture macro shots with a focal length of 30 cm.

On the front, there will be a 32 MPx selfie camera. The entire camera system remains practically the same as the predecessor, except for the new telephoto lens, and it will again carry Leica branding.

Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, water and dust resistance with an IP68 certification, the new HyperOS 2.0 operating system, and five years of Android updates.

In addition, the titanium edition will also support satellite connectivity. According to previous information, the battery in the Xiaomi 15 Pro will have a capacity of 6 000 mAh and support 90W wired, 80W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. This model delivers a significant improvement in battery capacity over Xiaomi 14 Pro (4880 mAh), but the charging speed has been reduced from 120W to 90W.
