Earlier leaks already revealed the truth that Redmi is quietly developing the second generation of its budget-friendly tablet. The latest leaks show what specifications we could be looking at.
We have the first specs
A well-known source Kacper Skrzypek on the Twitter social network revealed several key specs of the Redmi Pad 2 tablet, but for now the authenticity of the information can’t be verified—you’ll have to wait for the official presentation.
His sources say that for the second generation, Redmi will drop MediaTek processors and go with its competition from Qualcomm—in particular, it should be the mid-range chipset Snapdragon 680.
That’s not exactly good news, because using this processor suggests a potential drop in overall performance compared to its predecessor, which had a MediaTek Helio G99 processor.
The Helio G99 chipset offers about 16 % more performance on the graphics side and tends to beat the Snapdragon 680 by roughly 35 % in the AnTuTu performance test.
The display won’t be surprising
Kacper Skrzypek also says the screen will have a 10.95-inch diagonal and will remain an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The 90Hz refresh rate will fortunately be preserved, so the feel when using it should be top-notch.

The Redmi Pad 2 should get a 8-megapixel rear camera, while the selfie camera will have a fairly low resolution of just 5 Mpx. Still, it’s good to keep in mind that the price tag should land somewhere around €250.
Latest Android 13
Right out of the box, the owner should get the latest operating system Android 13 together with a rich overlay called MIUI 14. Other details aren’t available at the moment.
What’s interesting, though, is that the tablet has already passed CEE certification with the model number 23073RPBFG and the name Redmi M84. So you can expect it to show up within the next few months.
