We’re eagerly waiting for the moment when Xiaomi introduces its next smartphones, and apparently we’re not far off from that. Lei Jun, the company’s founder, has the floor and reveals the presentation date.
On the social network Weibo, Lei Jun literally said that next month his “masterpiece of the year” will be unveiled. Since we know that next month the long-awaited Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone is set to be presented, we believe Jun is talking about exactly that.
Will it definitely be Xiaomi 12 Ultra?
That’s because it will be a flagship photo phone, with Xiaomi collaborating with Leica, which should be reflected in the resulting photo quality. And maybe we’re wrong, and by this claim Jun meant the unveiling of the smartphones from the Xiaomi 12S series? Hard to say, but we’re leaning more toward the 12 Ultra.
However, Lei Jun didn’t mention a specific date, only the month July, so we’ll still need to wait for the official confirmation of the final date. It’s expected to be July 5th or 7th. And that’s because the Chinese manufacturer prefers events on Tuesday and Thursday.
This is what we expect
The founder of Xiaomi also emphasized that this masterpiece will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The smartphone will also be the successor to the previous top model line with IP68 certification.
Besides, we also know that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra should score a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, LTPO 2 technology, and the ability to reach a maximum brightness of 1,700 nits.
The battery should have a capacity of 5 000 mAh along with 120-watt charging. Although elsewhere, a value of 4 800 mAh and 67-watt charging is mentioned.
The biggest selling point will be the cameras. But the information varies a lot here—in the latest reports, though, we can expect the main 50-megapixel sensor Sony IMX989, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 120x hybrid zoom, plus a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
