- Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro are, according to the leaker, still in development
- Chips again from MediaTek; we don’t know the exact model
- A Leica camera with 200MP is being tested
- According to Chinese websites, the premiere is before June 2027
So far, we’ve only known model numbers and the code name from the GSMA database for the next T series, but now the first equipment details have also surfaced. The Chinese leaker Smart Pikachu wrote on Weibo on Saturday, October 24, that Xiaomi is continuing to develop the Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro models. Once again, they are expected to rely on MediaTek Dimensity chips, and in tests they got a Leica camera with a resolution of 200MP.
Dimensity stays; the camera is supposed to get 200MP
According to the portal IT Home, which was the first to analyze the post, these will be phones with a medium-to-large display that isn’t supposed to be stretched too much. The leaker didn’t reveal which Dimensity chip it will be, nor is it known which camera will have 200MP and whether both models will get it.
Compared to the current generation, it would be a big leap. Xiaomi 17T Pro, which we had in hand during the mega review, has a Light Hunter 950 main sensor with a resolution of 50MP. It’s complemented by a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Two 200MP Leica sensors are so far only in the pricier Xiaomi 18 Pro series, which—according to a leaked price list—should cost in Europe from €1,399.

Chinese websites point out that development is still only at the beginning. The word the leaker used in Chinese refers to launching a project and testing. So the specs could still change before the premiere, and Xiaomi has not confirmed any of this yet.
January or June—dates differ by half a year
Chinese media, including the portal MyDrivers, expect the new series to arrive before the 618 shopping festival, which peaks in mid-June in China. They base this on how it was with 17T, which as the first T series was officially sold in China and Xiaomi introduced it globally at the end of May 2026.
However, model numbers from the GSMA database suggest an early-year start. As we wrote in September, global designations start with numbers 2701 and 2702, which—according to Xiaomi’s usual practice—would mean January to February 2027. Which date will be confirmed is still unknown. However, Xiaomi hasn’t held back those coded months in model numbers for years on end.
What can you expect in Europe?
The T series is sold officially also in Slovakia, and you’ll get the flagship’s equipment at a more affordable price. With the 17T, though, the European version differed from the Chinese one. The base Xiaomi 17T has, in Europe, a battery of 6 500 mAh instead of 7 000 mAh and charges at 67 W, while the 17T Pro kept 7 000 mAh as well as 100 W charging.

No one has shown what the 18T looks like yet, so in the article photos you’ll find the current Xiaomi 17T Pro from our review. If the leak is confirmed, the new models will stay with MediaTek and the main change will be the camera. A lot will depend on whether the 200MP goes to the main sensor or the telephoto lens.
