The Chinese brand Xiaomi continues to update its MIUI 13. graphical interface. This time again, it brings new and useful features—both at the level of the interface itself and the audio experience. However, it’s important to emphasize that these are features from the beta version, not the final and stable release of the system.

MIUI 13: Several updates in the Chinese beta version

As we already know, Xiaomi is constantly improving its software interface with new features requested by the developer team itself, but also by users. The goal of these improvements is to enhance the user experience.

From the source MIUIes we know that the Chinese beta version of the MIUI 13 system in version V22.3.12 brings news in the system interface. Besides improving the user interface, we can also expect new features to enhance sound—specifically in the mode for connected headphones.

Virtual surround sound and mobile data speed display

The first design improvement is a change in the fingerprint sensor interface. It’s about adding animation effects for the sensor integrated into the display. In addition, there’s also the option to display remaining mobile data, via an item intended for mobile data.

However, the most important new feature is a new function that will allow enabling a mode labeled “Virtual Immersive Sound”. This mode should deliver virtual surround sound when headphones are connected (it supports both wired and wireless headphones).

This feature should enrich sound depth and improve the audio experience through software. However, virtual surround sound won’t be available when using the “Audio 5.1” mode on a smartphone. These mentioned updates, though, are currently just part of the Chinese beta version of the system, and it’s not clear whether they will also make it to the stable release.
