The Chinese company Xiaomi is preparing the next generation of its graphics interface for smartphones and tablets, labeled MIUI 14. It will offer a completely new design language, functional improvements, and a new layout of elements.
MIUI 14: This is the new design language of the graphics interface
Since MIUI 13 launched almost a year ago, the manufacturer has already started preparing the next generation as well. The first information leaks appeared for the version labeled MIUI 13.5, but today we know they are related to the version MIUI 14.
And it’s specifically in the MIUI 14 version that we expect a new design language for the graphics interface. This will slightly disrupt the cycle we’re used to—where Xiaomi released one update to optimize functions and one update to change the design.
It’s moving very fast on the fourteenth generation, so we could see the new interface already in the coming period. The well-known portal Xiaomiui.net has revealed several images of the upcoming interface, showing design-related updates.

As you can see in the pictures, MIUI 14 will bring several aesthetic changes at once, starting with a new “bolder” font we haven’t seen in the overlay so far. The user interface will be enhanced with new widget-style cards for the home screen. And it’s not just design—some built-in apps, like the Gallery, will also get functional improvements.
On the other hand, a number of the apps we know today in the system will be completely redesigned. Some features will even be part of the new Google Discover extension, which every user can customize to their needs directly at the level of the Android system.
The ability to uninstall native apps and a feature like iOS LiveText
Among the other details included in the new version is also the native implementation of Qualcomm Bluetooth LE Audio. There will also be an option to uninstall some native apps, such as the Clock app. But we can also look forward to functional system improvements—like recognizing text in images, meaning a feature similar to the competing iOS Live Text from Apple.
To sum it up, it seems that the MIUI 14 graphics interface will be a major change for users of Xiaomi smartphones. The official launch has not yet been confirmed with a press conference date, but it’s said to be in November this year.
In this case, software improvements would be directly merged with hardware novelties—namely the official presentation of the new flagship series of devices labeled Xiaomi 13. Of course, first the Chinese ROM will be launched, and only later will we get the global version. That version is typically stripped of some features from the Chinese edition. But here in the editorial team, we hope that compromises will really be minimal this year.
