The company Xiaomi sometimes surprises you with a new product offered through the YouPin e-commerce platform. The newest addition is a clever massage pillow that, besides its relaxing functions, also offers stereo speakers and Bluetooth connectivity.
A smart pillow? Nothing is impossible for Xiaomi
The intelligent pillow is made of 93% natural material (it includes rubber), which has a very good ability to restore its original shape after possible deformation. The pillow is available in two sizes: men’s and women’s.
The men’s version is bigger, with dimensions 60 cm x 34 cm x 7 cm / 11 cm and a weight of 1,2 kg. The women’s version has dimensions 60 cm x 34 cm x 5 cm / 8 cm and weighs 1 kg.
The pillow model also includes special shaping for the user’s neck, which should lie on the heated pad. The pad will also feature three sources of impulses designed to increase blood flow and ease stress.
The pad offers 6 different temperature settings in the range of 38 to 53 degrees Celsius, plus low-frequency impulses up to 1000 Hz that are harmless to the body. There will be 15 intensity levels, including two extra modes for massage or simulating acupuncture.
Stereo speakers and Bluetooth
The pillow includes the two speakers mentioned above, which you can’t see—the music is transmitted to the auditory nerve through vibrations through the bones of the skull. A similar function was also seen in some smartphone models.
There’s no shortage of Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with your smartphone (Android and iOS). Through your phone, you can monitor your sleep or get useful sleep tips, and you can also set an automatic shutdown for the induction mode.
For now, the Xiaomi smart massage pillow is available only on the Chinese market for a price of 299 yuan. That’s roughly €38 / 972 CZK, although the standard retail price will probably be a bit higher. As soon as it appears in the lineup of international retailers, we’ll be sure to let you know.
