Redmi is slowly gearing up to launch the Redmi K40 series. This model lineup should include the Redmi K40 and a more premium variant, the Redmi K40 Pro. Initial information about these models has started to show up on the internet.
Certification reveals the specifications
Specifically, we have another certification available that every smartphone has to pass through before hitting the market. In it, we learn some interesting details that point to further, closer specifications.
The certification we have uncovered reveals that the serial number of the Redmi K40 should be M2011K2C. The interesting part is that this exact number is associated with a processor that hasn’t even been announced yet.
Specifically, we’re talking about a chipset from Qualcomm called Snapdragon 775G. As we’ve already written, this processor has not been announced yet, and we expect its release at the beginning of December.

What’s more, it’s likely that the 775G will be unveiled alongside the flagship model 875. That means we’re getting the information that the 775 and 875 processors will see the light of day in early December—a period when we expect the arrival of the K40 lineup.
The first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 765G processor is the Redmi K30. You don’t need to be overly smart to figure out that, with high probability, even the base K40 model will be the first device to have the 775G processor under the hood.

Maybe you already guessed that a similar scenario could happen with the upcoming Redmi K40 Pro. This smartphone will also most likely be the first device under whose hood we’ll find the 875 processor.
The Redmi K40 series will be presented in mainland China at around the end of December. Until then, we’ll document all the important updates on our website, on our Facebook page, and also as part of our newsletter, where you can sign up below the article.
