The upgrade MIUI 14 was introduced already at the end of last year, and Xiaomi is gradually rolling it out to some of its models. The update has now also been received by the global versions of the Xiaomi 12 series, meaning the smartphones Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro.
MIUI 14 for the Xiaomi 12 series
Specifically, two updates have been released with the labels V14.0.5.0.TLBMIXM and V14.0.2.0.TLCMIXM. The first one is for the Xiaomi 12 Pro model, while the second is for the base variant Xiaomi 12.
Before the launch, this version can be tested by users registered in the mentioned MIUI beta program. As for MIUI 14 itself, as Xiaomi states, this year focused on improved stability and reduced system lag.
After installing, you can notice a significant jump in performance—despite the fact that the smartphones no longer have the newest chipset, but roughly a year-old Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The new MIUI 14 design is more minimalist and modern, focusing on simplicity. The home screen has been reworked to be more intuitive, with a clearer layout.
At launch, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones ran Android 12 with the MIUI 13 interface layer. So, together with MIUI 14, the latest Android version with the number 13 is also installed.
Xiaomi is moving forward with updates
The company really is trying—just a few days ago it rolled out MIUI 14 to some Xiaomi and POCO models. Specifically, it was Xiaomi 12 Lite, Xiaomi 11T, and POCO F4 GT.
The last named model from POCO has the same processor as the Xiaomi 12 series models, so it was basically just a matter of time—since the optimization for this processor was already done with the POCO model. It’s only a matter of time before MIUI 14 arrives on the rest of the company’s devices.
