This step builds on the strategy we could also see with the POCO F7 Pro and Ultra models, as well as other Redmi models. Why is this happening?
Why do we have smaller batteries in Europe than in China?
In recent months, it has been common not only for Xiaomi, that models for the European market get slightly smaller batteries:
- Global versions have a smaller battery capacity
- Chinese and Indian variants keep larger batteries
- A similar adjustment was applied to the POCO F7 Pro and Ultra models
- The Chinese version, known as Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, stays at 7550 mAh
Xiaomi has not disclosed official reasons, but according to multiple sources, it’s mainly due to European rules and regulations in the consumer electronics area, which have been fairly strict over the last year. One reason is European Union regulatory requirements, which set limits for energy content or the amount of lithium in battery cells.
We discussed this battery-shrinking situation for Europe in detail in our article on ChinaPlanet.sk.
Expected specs of the European POCO F7
POCO F7 shares its main specs with the recently unveiled Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. We can expect the following flagship features:
| - | POCO F7 model designation 25053PC47G |
|---|---|
| Display | 6.83" 120 Hz OLED | 2772 x 1280 px | max. brightness 3200 nits |
| Processor | Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 | 4nm | 2 400 000 AnTuTu score |
| Main camera | 50 MPx Sony LYT-600 | OIS stabilization | f/1.5 aperture |
| Ultra-wide camera | 8 MP SC820CS |
| Battery | 6500 mAh / 90W charging |
| More | IP68 | LPDDR5X RAM | UFS 4.1 |

Even with a smaller battery, the POCO F7 should keep all the other technical specifications from the Chinese version—promising high performance at a very competitive price. That’s why POCO remains true to its philosophy of offering the maximum in terms of price/performance.
POCO F7: Expected launch
After Redmi Turbo 4 Pro was introduced on 24. April in the home Chinese market, the global debut of POCO F7 is also getting closer. Xiaomi usually follows a schedule where about 3 to 4 weeks pass between the Chinese and global announcements.
The official announcement should confirm all parameters, prices for individual regions, and availability. As soon as we learn the official POCO F7 launch date, we’ll let you know on our website and on social media.
