Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand, Redmi, is now bringing within its product lineup a new 23.8″ gaming monitor with a refresh rate up to 240 Hz. It also has Full HD resolution and low latency, which active gamers will especially appreciate.
The new 23,8″ gaming monitor from Redmi
The official name of this new product is Redmi 23,8″ Gaming Monitor. And this player-focused monitor has several top features for a fairly affordable retail price. These include, for example, Full HD resolution and a high refresh rate of the built-in panel—up to 240 Hz. The gaming segment is also hinted at by the very look, in a black color combination.
The dimensions of this product are 539.5 × 184 × 479.5 millimeters, and its weight is then 4.53 kilograms. The built-in IPS LCD display measures 23,8″, has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and supports 100% sRGB color gamut (it offers 16.7 million colors in total).
Maximum brightness of 350 nits, vertical swivel, and AMD FreeSync Premium
The maximum screen brightness is 350 nits and the contrast ratio is 1000:1. A big advantage is low latency, at just 1 ms. The display also supports AMD FreeSync Premium, and the design includes a sturdy stand with the option to vertically rotate the monitor up to a 90° angle.
For connectivity, you get 1 x DisplayPort in version 1.2, 2 x HDMI connectors in version 2.1, and for connecting standard wired headphones you can use the built-in 3.5 mm audio connector. The monitor does not include speakers.
In the retail package you’ll find the monitor itself, called Redmi 23,8″ Gaming Monitor, a desk stand with a swivel head, plus additional accessories. These include a power cable for the mains (a Chinese plug to the power outlet) and a DisplayPort cable for carrying the video signal, as well as a set of four screws. There’s also a brief user manual and the first product setup.
Price and availability of the product
The gaming monitor from Redmi has so far been officially introduced only on the domestic Chinese market. In that market it will be sold at an official retail price of 1699 Chinese yuan, which is roughly 240 € / 269 USD. We currently don’t have any information about the product’s global availability.
