Redmi has a lot already this year, and this is only March. At the beginning of the year it became an independent brand, they introduced the top Redmi Note 7 and, just a few days ago, also its more equipped version, Redmi Note 7 Pro. But the new releases don’t end there.
More Xiaomi content can be found on our social networks
Soon we’ll be seeing another model. The seventh generation of the popular budget Redmi is already around the corner, as suggested by the leaked videos.
Finally, a proper successor!
Since the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4X models, which were a huge success, Xiaomi hasn’t introduced a suitable successor. Redmi 5 and Redmi 6 didn’t really impress. Redmi 7 however will change that. New videos appeared on YouTube showing Redmi 7 in all its glory and revealing all its specs. And we have plenty to look forward to.
From the design side, it’s clear the smartphone is aimed at affordability. The back is glossy plastic with a modern gradient coating. On the front, you’ll find a 6.26″ IPS HD+ display with the same notch as on Redmi Note 7.
Cheap smartphone, great performance
Redmi 7 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, which integrates 8 x Kryo 260 cores. The CPU is clocked at 1.8 GHz, and the Adreno 506 chip helps it with graphics calculations. In AnTuTu, this chipset reached a very decent score of over 101 thousand points. Compared to last year’s fiasco with MediaTek chipsets, this finally is a proper upgrade.
As for memory, the videos show a version with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage. The good news is that you’ll also get a microSD card slot. Redmi 7 will have a slot for two SIM cards and an additional slot specifically for microSD.
In the lineup, you’ll also find a dual 12 MPx + 8 MPx rear camera with artificial intelligence and a f/2.2 aperture. A nice surprise is the presence of a solid 4000 mAh battery. Considering the lower video resolution and the power-saving processor, Redmi 7 should offer really long battery life. The 3.5mm jack and IR Blaster are also not missing.
The estimated price will please you
In leaked YouTube videos, besides the design and specs, an estimated price tag also appeared. Given the authors’ Vietnamese origin, we learned the price for the Vietnamese market. After conversion, it comes out to €115 / 3000 CZK. It’s already clear that the price for the Slovak and Czech markets will be a bit higher. We estimate it at €160-170 / 4000 – 4400 CZK.
For now, it’s not known when the manufacturer will officially launch Redmi 7 on the market, but given the leaked videos, it could happen already soon. Regarding the official specs and prices in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, we’ll keep you updated via our newsletter.
