Redmi 9: Truly cheap smartphone

For its low price, though, the device delivers a really solid set of features, bringing together some elements from last year’s device Redmi Note 8 Pro along with selected parts from the higher model Redmi K30.

The feature set of the affordable Redmi 9 includes a 6.53″ display with Full HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch that houses the integrated front camera. On the processor side, you get a powerful MediaTek Helio G80 model, delivering performance comparable to the higher Redmi Note 9.

More configurations will be available for purchase. Specifically, it’s 3 / 4 GB RAM and 32 / 64 GB of internal storage. Storage can also be expanded further via a microSD memory card.

4 cameras and a 5020 mAh battery

Thanks to the started sale at selected retailers, we’ve also learned more technical specs of this affordable smartphone. The back will feature four cameras at once. The main sensor will offer 13 MPx and will be complemented by a 8 MPx ultra-wide sensor, a 2 MPx secondary sensor, and a 5 MPx “macro” camera.

The front camera placed in the display notch has an 8 MPx resolution. You’ll also like the large battery capacity of up to 5020 mAh. The phone supports fast 18W wired charging via the modern USB Type-C connector.

The equipment also includes other technologies, such as an NFC chip that will be used for contactless payments via Google Pay, plus Bluetooth 4.2, a 3.5 mm audio connector for connecting headphones, and an infrared port for controlling home electronics remotely.
