Redmi’s new beast has an official launch date: the Redmi K60 Ultra will arrive with the most powerful MediaTek processor so far

The Chinese Xiaomi subsidiary brand, Redmi, also produces premium flagship smartphones for the Chinese market—proof of which is the upcoming Redmi K60 Ultra. This smartphone should arrive with the most powerful MediaTek chip so far.

Redmi K60 Ultra: The new model with the most powerful MediaTek processor

After a long period of silence from press conferences, we have a new update from Redmi. On its official profile on a Chinese social network, it confirmed that the new event will take place tomorrow already, August 3, 2023 at 8:00 (your time). This press conference will focus on a new and powerful flagship smartphone in the world of smartphones.

The mysterious name of this device hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. But from previous leak information, we know it will most likely be called Redmi K60 Ultra. What’s more, this model should also deliver a top-tier performance experience—it will come with a flagship chip from MediaTek.

Dimensity 9200+ in the new Redmi’s specs

The manufacturer announced its upcoming event via a promotional poster. It reveals three labels: specifically Redmi, MediaTek, and Pixelworks. The latter refers to the name of the chip designed to enhance the visual experience on displays. It’s a less well-known technology, more familiar from the world of computers.

However, the information about the chip used is even more interesting. The Redmi K60 Ultra should feature a flagship model MediaTek Dimensity 9200+. This processor is the successor to Dimensity 9200, but it offers extra performance and features to improve smoothness and the user experience.

We don’t know any more details about the press conference yet. However, it’s possible that we’ll also see another product, such as the Redmi Pad 2 or another device from the Redmi brand. For a reminder, during the month of August we should also get another event—this time under the Xiaomi brand banner. It should be the presentation of the long-awaited “folding” device, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3.
