Xiaomi is once again pushing the limits of performance, and this time it’s coming with a model aimed directly at mobile gamers and demanding users. The new Redmi K90 Max is an extremely powerful smartphone with a unique feature—active cooling with a fan. Even at first glance, it’s a device that wants to dominate both benchmarks and real-world use.
For now, this model is only available in China. However, a very similar version is being prepared for the global market, most likely under the name Xiaomi 17T Pro. It should come without the active fan, while keeping most of the hardware and the performance that makes the K90 Max a real monster.
Extreme performance: Dimensity 9500 and a dedicated graphics chip
At the heart of the device is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, sitting right at the absolute top end. It’s paired with a dedicated Xiaomi D2 graphics chip—a solution that significantly helps with gaming and demanding graphics operations. The result is brutal performance, exceeding the 4 million-point mark in AnTuTu.
Add up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage with up to 1 TB capacity. This is exactly the kind of configuration that can handle any app, multitasking, and long gaming sessions without slowing down.
Active cooling like a gaming laptop
The biggest highlight of the Redmi K90 Max is the built-in cooling fan. It has a diameter of 18,1 mm and can significantly reduce the device temperature by up to 10 °C. It works together with a large vapor chamber and a special air duct for maximum efficiency.
The fan isn’t just a marketing gimmick—it runs quietly (around 32 dB) and has multiple modes. Xiaomi even tested its lifespan for 50 000 hours. That means it should stay reliable even with long-term use.
Display and multimedia at the top level
The front is taken up by a large 6,83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an extremely high refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. The panel reaches a maximum brightness of up to 3500 nits, so reading outdoors in sunlight won’t be a problem.
There’s also an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint reader and stereo speakers tuned by Bose. That means great sound not only for gaming, but also when watching videos or listening to music.
Huge battery and fast charging
One of the biggest surprises is the battery. The Redmi K90 Max comes with a capacity of up to 8500 mAh, which is absolutely above standard for a smartphone. It uses modern Si-C technology, enabling higher energy density.
It supports 100 W fast charging, as well as reverse charging with 22,5 W. There’s also a bypass charging feature that powers the phone directly while gaming, without stressing the battery.
Cameras and additional features
The main camera has 50 MP resolution and uses the Light Hunter 800 sensor with optical stabilization. It’s paired with a 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This isn’t primarily a photography phone, but for everyday shots, it’s more than enough.
Android 16 with HyperOS 3, high IP66 / IP68 / IP69 durability, and modern connectivity are all supported. Overall, it’s an extremely well-equipped smartphone that targets performance and endurance above all.
