Under its Redmi brand, Xiaomi officially unveiled the Redmi Pad Pro in China just a few days ago. Now it’s preparing a 5G version aimed at global customers too, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G.
Global version of the Redmi Pad Pro 5G tablet
First of all, we need to highlight that the global version of the Redmi Pad Pro 5G is directly based on the Chinese tablet version. This applies both to the design—with noticeably protruding camera modules—and to its specs, including the integrated pins for connecting original Xiaomi accessories.
5G connectivity was expected already when the original Pad Pro was announced. However, for this tablet, the manufacturer opted for a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. This key feature is likely to be changed in the new 5G model, according to the Android Headlines portal.
Based on a published report, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G has the code name “ruan”, and it is essentially the same tablet as the non-5G variant. Besides mobile network support. The report also states that Redmi Pad Pro 5G will debut in three versions: 24074RPD2G, 24074RPD2I, and 24074RPD2C.
These models are expected to be released first in China, alongside devices like the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and the Redmi K70 Ultra. The report also mentions that the 5G tablet will arrive on the global market as well, including India, under the POCO brand. And previous reports also said that the original Redmi Pad Pro will be called the POCO Pad in the global market.
The latest revealed information says that Redmi Pad Pro 5G will also come with e-SIM support, meaning users won’t need to insert a physical SIM card to make calls or use mobile data. This is definitely good news for people in Slovakia too.
These are the tablet’s technical specifications
If we go by the original model Redmi Pad Pro, you can look forward to a 12.1″ LCD display with 2.5K resolution and up to a 120 Hz variable refresh rate. The maximum brightness of this panel is 600 nits, it supports Dolby Vision, stylus control (which can be attached to the tablet magnetically), and it also comes with TÜV Rheinland certification.
The rear camera will offer a resolution of 8 MPx and an LED flash; the front camera will have the same resolution. We don’t know which processor will be used. But in the original model, you get 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage.
Other features include four speakers with Dolby Atmos, two microphones, plus Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5 mm audio connector, and Android 14 with Xiaomi’s new HyperOS overlay. The built-in battery will have a capacity of 10 000 mAh, and it will also support fast 33 W wired charging.
