Premium design
The design of the RedmiBook Pro is similar to Apple’s California lineup and their MacBook Pro series. That’s not a drawback, though—this laptop looks premium, thanks especially to the aluminum build, which is durable and dissipates accumulated heat better.
The dimensions of the 14-inch model are 315.6 x 220 x 173 mm, and its weight is a pleasant 1.42 kg. The 15-inch model is a bit larger—specifically 350 x 242.3 x 179 mm—and the weight lands at 1.8 kg.
AMD onboard
Redmi decided to roll out processors from AMD. Specifically, this concerns AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7. These are eight-core processors made using 7-nanometer technology, handling maximum load up to 4.3 GHz.
In all cases, the manufacturer used AMD RX Vega 6 graphics cards. These configurations are also intended for more graphically demanding tasks, such as photo editing or 4K video editing. There is 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and the SSD storage has a capacity of 512 GB.
Top-tier displays
The 14-inch model comes with an IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2.5K (2,560 x 1,600 pixels). This display offers 100% RGB coverage. Max brightness is rated at 300 nits.
You can’t really go wrong even with the bigger 15-inch variant. The resolution jumps to 3.2K (3,200 x 1,600 pixels), and the manufacturer also added a 90 Hz refresh rate. Max brightness stays the same.
Rich connectivity
Both variants support the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, Bluetooth 5.0, have a backlit keyboard, and a fingerprint reader in the power button. There’s also a feature that ensures a connection with smartphones with the MIUI 12 interface.
The port selection is completely the same. On the left side you get a USB C connector, an HDMI connector, USB 3.2, and another USB C connector. The right side includes USB 2.0 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Battery life should be around 12 hours of video playback. The operating system is Windows 10.
