Redmi held an event where, among other things, it also unveiled updated versions of its laptop models. Only the processors were updated, with the manufacturer opting for AMD and its Ryzen series.
They replaced Intel with AMD processors
The processor update affects the 14-inch and 15-inch variants of the RedmiBook Pro laptop. All features and the design remain unchanged. The manufacturer went with AMD Ryzen processors.
In RedmiBook Pro 14, you’ll find an AMD AMD Ryzen 5 5500U and a Ryzen 7 5700U processor. The 15-inch model gets a more powerful AMD Ryzen 5 5600H and Ryzen 7 5800H. All other parameters remain the same.
Great design and a top-notch display
RedmiBook Pro laptops are beautiful aluminum machines that slightly resemble Apple’s MacBook Pro. The larger version offers a 3,2K Super Retina display; the smaller version has a 2,5K resolution. Both models have a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Worth noting is also support for the modern Wi-Fi 6 standard, which is still becoming more widespread. RedmiBook Pro 15 supports up to 100 W charging. The built-in battery itself is 70 Wh.
Prices and availability
RedmiBook Pro laptops in the 14 and 15-inch versions will be available for now only on the Chinese market. In the future, we expect them to show up in the lineup of international sellers as well, just like their Intel versions.
Prices will be as follows: RedmiBook Pro 14 with an AMD AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor with 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD drive costs 4 299 yuan, which is about 549 euros; the version with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U comes in at 4 699 yuan (600 euros).
The 15-inch version with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, 16 GB RAM, and a 512 GB SSD will cost 4 799 yuan (613 euros), and the version with Ryzen 7 5800H will reach the level of 5 299 yuan, i.e. roughly some 677 euros on conversion. Those are really great prices for notebooks with this kind of specs.
These laptops offer a great price/performance ratio, which we’ve already come to expect from this brand. As soon as they show up with retailers, we’ll inform you in time.
