Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra: 10,000 Pa, dual brush, and an adaptive algorithm
But let’s move on to the technical specifications. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra vacuum also features a round body in a matte color finish. In the same matte tone you’ll find the emptying station, which is included in the package in this case. The dimensions of the robot vacuum itself are 350 x 353 x 103 mm, while the station is 409 x 419 x 470 mm.
The electric motor inside this flagship vacuum delivers suction power up to 10,000 Pa. Even though this suction power is available in the strongest suction mode, it’s still an above-average value—and even compared with competitors within its own lineup, such as the Roborock S8 Max Ultra (8000 Pa) or Roborock Qrevo MaxV (7000 Pa).
A major advantage is the dual DuoRoller brush at the bottom, designed to avoid clogging the suction opening during cleaning and therefore not snag pet hair or long human hair.
What’s more, the vacuum also offers automatic dirt detection to increase performance, automatic mopping mode selection, automatic mop drying, automatic emptying at the charging station, plus automatic dosing of water and cleaning solution for the mop.
FlexiArm brush or mop, LDS navigation, and a 5200 mAh battery
With the mop, you can also use the sonic mopping function with high-speed vibrations (400 times per minute) and double spinning to eliminate even stubborn dirt. The package includes a flexible side brush and a mopping pad FlexiArm, as well as automatic lifting when carpets are detected via ultrasonic sensing.
The mopping mode called VibraRise 3.0 can clean very close to walls—just 1.68 mm away. And it delivers up to 185 rotations per minute.
Roborock’s flagship uses a laser LDS navigation system that’s 6x faster, located on the top side. However, it’s not the standard navigation you’d get with cheaper models. The system has also been upgraded with an AI 2.0 adaptive algorithm for the most efficient cleaning route, as well as improved intelligent obstacle avoidance.
The vacuum is suitable and tolerant even for household pets, and it even has a camera for live connection with your home while it’s cleaning. TÜV Rheinland certification has also verified the safety of your data.
Since this is a smart home product, it doesn’t lack control via the Roborock mobile app. The vacuum also supports various scheduling options, map creation, zone cleaning, room partitioning, restricted zones, and selecting individual suction modes remotely.
It also has voice control via Google Assistant, as well as support for third-party services. The vacuuming noise level is capped at 67 decibels, the dust tank capacity is 270 milliliters, and the water tank capacity for the mop is a clean 100 milliliters.
The built-in battery has a capacity of 5200 mAh and uses about 60 W to power the vacuum cleaner. The resulting runtime in standard mode is around approx. 180 minutes, i.e. it can cover an area of up to 300 square meters. However, this figure may change when using maximum suction or the mop mode.
Just as important is the docking station 8 in 1. It can even dry the mop with hot air (eliminating 99,99% of bacteria). It also offers automatic dirt detection, and in addition to cleaning the vacuum, it has a self-cleaning function (an optional station with automatic features).
