Xiaomi keeps surprising us. A big Chinese conference is coming up for us tomorrow, where the manufacturer will mainly unveil the Xiaomi 13 series. However, it has recently also confirmed that it has a first desktop computer in store for us!
Xiaomi has a fairly big portfolio of different laptops, but we haven’t seen a separate computer in the lineup of this Chinese giant yet, and it’s good that Xiaomi wants to make a name for itself in this segment too.
Competition for the Mac mini
It should carry the name Xiaomi Mini Host. We found out about its existence via a promotional poster. It was also confirmed that we’ll see it at tomorrow’s conference.
On the poster, we can also spot subtle hints about the design. It will apparently be a small computer that will indeed be powerful, but it will mainly go after the competition in the form of the popular Apple Mac mini.
Metal material
It also looks like the surface finish will be the same as with Apple’s competition—metal. We guess it will be aluminum, which looks good and also helps dissipate the accumulated heat.
So everything besides the display will be stored in a small box. That means the computer will be easy to store, you can hide it anywhere, and it won’t take up much space.
Besides that, we don’t have any further information. We assume that most connectors will be oriented toward the back so they won’t interfere with the product’s aesthetics.
Will it come to the global market?
There’s also talk that Intel processors will be used. However, given the small body, we can’t expect gaming performance—more like demanding office work. We’ll see if, over time, this little piece also makes it to the global market.
We’ll learn more information already on December 1 at 12:00 (our time). Along with the desktop computer and the Xiaomi 13 series, we can also look forward to the MIUI 14 software overlay, smartwatches Watch S2, and wireless earbuds Buds 4.
