Xiaomi reveals “Razor Project”: The new generation of MIUI 14 brings radical improvements we’ve been waiting for for years!

Yesterday we finally found out when Xiaomi plans to unveil the Xiaomi 13 series, the MIUI 14 interface layer, and other devices. Today, the Chinese giant announced Razor Project. It will mainly be about MIUI.

MIUI in its “cleanest” form so far

Project Razor wants to become something like Android One. It will be a system built on minimalism and speed, but most importantly on the absence of— or the ability to uninstall—preinstalled apps.

So Xiaomi has revealed its vision of what the new MIUI 14 interface should look like on all of their smartphones. The manufacturer will focus specifically on three key aspects.

Maximum performance and minimum “bloat”

It will be minimal firmware, minimal memory usage, and a minimum of apps that can’t be uninstalled. In the end, you’ll get an Android interface layer without bloatware, using maximum performance, and it will also be possible to remove even the native apps.

Earlier, it was already rumored that Xiaomi wants to lighten MIUI, because it’s truly a massive interface layer. The first step was finally the absence of ads and lots of preinstalled apps.

The Chinese giant itself confirmed that MIUI 14 is 23% more efficient than the current MIUI 13. We don’t have more information yet, but we won’t have to wait long.

We’ll learn more 1. December

As we mentioned at the beginning, Xiaomi has a major China conference scheduled for December 1st, where we’ll surely find out details about Project Razor and MIUI 14.

An unofficial list of devices was leaked earlier, which should receive an update to the MIUI 14 interface. That list includes up to 95 models, so it remains a mystery for now whether the information will turn out to be true.

At the Thursday conference, we’ll meet the new Xiaomi 13 smartphone series, the Xiaomi Watch S2 smartwatch, and the Xiaomi Buds 4 earbuds—so on Thursday, don’t forget to follow our website, where we’ll bring you updates on the new releases among the first.
