This way, you can wirelessly transfer files from your Xiaomi smartphone to a PC without installing any apps

The built-in ShareMe app from the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, of course part of the MIUI user interface, offers truly broad file-sharing options. Now you can also view files on your computer via an FTP storage.

ShareMe shows your files on your PC too

Many of us send and receive files almost every day using our personal computer. However, not everyone knows that there’s also a more convenient way to view files than a USB-C cable. That’s because there’s wireless transfer via the built-in ShareMe app from Xiaomi.

Thanks to this feature, transferring files between your PC and smartphone becomes much easier—everything you need is the same Wi‑Fi connection and setting up FTP storage. And since it’s a built-in app, you can use it on all Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices with the latest software version.

Just a few simple steps

• Open the ShareMe app on your smartphone
• In the menu in the top-right corner of the screen, select the function “Share with PC”
• At the bottom of the screen, then click on the option “Start”
• For greater security, choose the function “Protected password”

After creating a username and password, your storage is ready to use. You’ll see the FTP storage address on the screen. Now you can move to your computer to set up the FTP storage.

• You can enter the generated address in your web browser (for proper functioning, Google Chrome is recommended)
  • An alternative is entering it via the file browser on your Windows or via Finder on Mac
• Your computer will prompt you to enter the username and password for your FTP storage
• Then it will show you a folder with your files from the smartphone, and you can get to work
