The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has officially introduced a new fitness band, its sixth generation with the name Xiaomi Mi Band 6. These are the three main improvements of the global version, which will officially go on sale also in our Slovak or Czech retail market.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6: The main upgrade is a new AMOLED display
Even though the device design and dimensions are very similar to the previous generation, one big upgrade is also the larger screen itself. It has at least bezels, and compared to the Mi Band 5 model, it’s larger by up to 50%. However, the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 no longer includes a capacitive button; returning to the home screen is handled by a left-swipe gesture.
The diagonal of the sixth generation is up to 1.56″. There’s also AMOLED technology with good visibility, along with a higher pixel density of up to 326 ppi. Such sharpness is slowly getting closer to the displays of some smartphones. A larger display also means more information shown and better readability, which is definitely a positive.
Improved sports activity monitoring
An improved display isn’t the only novelty, though. The manufacturer also worked on sports activity monitoring. It mainly includes automatic exercise recognition, supported for up to 6 sports, including running.
There’s also an expanded list of all the available sports. In the new generation, you’ll find a total of 30 sports, including even zumba or street dance, or freestyle training. Thanks to this, the new product becomes a more comprehensive tool that covers not only outdoor activities but also those indoors.
Better sleep tracking and SpO2 sensor
Among the other novelties, we also need to highlight better sleep monitoring. In this case, the manufacturer integrated a more advanced sleep tracking system, which also includes monitoring REM sleep and tracking breathing quality during sleep.
Additionally, the equipment includes a SpO2 sensor for measuring the amount of oxygen in your blood. With this feature, we can check not only your stress level, but also breathing and how well-oxygenated your body is at that moment.
