Xiaomi has yet another reason to be happy. This time, it’s not about smartphones, but about the segment it entered more than five years ago. Exactly that period was enough for it to become the 5th largest smart TV manufacturer.
Xiaomi never stops surprising you
Expansion into the European and Latin American market also helped a lot. After Xiaomi, there are only true market staples left like Samsung, LG, or Hisense.
Xiaomi even managed to overtake such big names as Sony or Philips, which clearly shows that the Chinese giant is moving forward at full speed.

During 2022, Xiaomi grew in this industry by 5.4%, despite the fact that it reduced its global deliveries by as much as 5%. This success is mainly driven by the smart TV Xiaomi TV Q2. It also meant an overall improvement in this segment—something fans definitely appreciated.
The advantage is the Google system
The advantage of smart TVs from Xiaomi is the operating system Android TV, which is now newly called Google TV. Since it’s an operating system from Google—one that’s also powered by the mobile Android—these devices can communicate with each other perfectly.
That way, Xiaomi smartphone owners can easily stream content directly from their phone to big Xiaomi TVs with Google’s system.
Besides classic LED technology, Xiaomi is also moving over time to more advanced options like OLED or QLED, where LG and Samsung currently rule. Still, smart TVs from Xiaomi can keep the price a bit lower than the competition.
The Chinese giant obviously isn’t discounting, and we’re curious about when it will bring even more interesting gadgets to the home market—and see at least some of them on the global market too.
