We ordered it too—it’s perfect!

The Xiaomi Mijia Hair Dryer H501 impressed us with its specs too, and we decided to order it. The order was placed on AliExpress 24. August 2023, while the package was delivered to us already on 6. September. Delivery went really fast—within 14 calendar days (including weekends).

The hair dryer is delivered in a simple white box, and since it’s the Chinese version, the name on the packaging as well as the manual are in Chinese. Also, the plug end is for the Chinese socket type, but all you need is a good-quality adapter and you can use the hair dryer without worries. We recommend these high-quality adapters from AliExpress—we’ve already tested them.

The hair dryer itself is made of plastic and is quite lightweight. The build quality is top-notch. We ordered the hair dryer in the classic white color. Operation is very simple – the dryer has a button to control the airflow speed, which you can set to mode 1 or 2, meaning weaker and stronger wind.

In the office, we also tested the Jimmy F6 hair dryer, which is about twice as expensive. With a coupon, it’s sold for €100 and, to be honest, the motor in the H501 seems very similar to the F6 model from Jimmy. Both in sound and performance, these hair dryers are very comparable.

We mostly use the weaker mode because even at this setting the wind speed is really great. The second, more powerful mode is ideal too for long women’s hair, which dries very quickly at air speeds up to 223 km/h.

It also has a button to adjust the air temperature, working in three modes – cold, mildly warm, and warm. Depending on the temperature you choose, the hair dryer also lights up, which is a pretty cool extra feature 🙂 The package includes only one universal flat attachment.

At the bottom, the hair dryer also has a filter that captures dirt or dust from the air. The cover can be easily removed so you can clean the filter with either a dry cloth or by gently blowing it out.

High power combined with an ionizer

One of the most interesting features of this hair dryer is its ability to reach high air speeds. It’s equipped with a powerful brushless motor that, in the strongest mode, reaches up to 110,000 RPM. Thanks to that, it can generate an air stream with a speed of up to 223 km/h.

Through the controls on its body, you can choose between two speeds and four airflow temperature modes. These are visually shown through color backlighting on the rear side.

In addition to high-speed hair drying, the Xiaomi Mijia Hair Dryer H501 is also equipped with an ionizer. Such hair dryers are among the gentlest devices when it comes to hair care. During this process, it generates negative ions in the air, which hydrates your hair, keeps it from getting too dry, and at the same time reduces the amount of static electricity in it.

Beautiful design and compact dimensions

This device is much more compact than it may seem at first glance. It fits perfectly in your hand and weighs just 345 grams, so even long-term use won’t be tiring. Its center of gravity is positioned under the handle and its weight is evenly distributed across the entire body, so you can comfortably use it for longer periods too.
