Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is preparing its new flagship smartphone called Xiaomi 12 Ultra. What’s more, this smartphone should offer premium materials such as ceramic or leather.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra: The new flagship smartphone will also offer ceramic and leather materials
Just recently, Xiaomi and Leica announced their new partnership in smartphone production. The duo promised to make an announcement in July, but we still don’t know the release date. However, what we do know is that the much-awaited flagship model Xiaomi 12 Ultra is currently in the works. And now we have new leaks at our disposal.
According to the latest post on the social network Weibo, the smartphone being prepared could arrive in two special color variants. It should be black, with a leather back cover, as well as white, with a textured ceramic surface on the back. This information comes from the well-known source Digital Chat Station.
Speaking of ceramic glass, this isn’t Xiaomi’s first experiment. The model Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, as a direct predecessor, was also introduced in a ceramic variant. It was a more expensive and more luxurious configuration of this smartphone.
Leica camera module on the back, AMOLED and 120 W charging
However, Xiaomi 12 Ultra won’t be a flagship device just in terms of design. An important element will also be the rear camera, which Leica should bring to a new level. The unique round camera module—some fans have dubbed it an “Oreo” island on the back—should include at least three high-quality sensors.
The main one could become the anticipated 200 MPx or an upgraded 108 MPx camera, which should also be complemented by an ultra-wide-angle sensor and a macro camera. The front should feature a curved AMOLED display with high resolution.
A flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ shouldn’t be missing either—it hasn’t been officially unveiled yet. Inside, there should be a 4900 mAh battery. The smartphone could also support ultra-fast 120 W charging, which we already know from previous models, such as Xiaomi 11T Pro.
