- Xiaomi published official photos of the 18 Fold in Warm Gold White and black colors.

The day before the premiere, Xiaomi released the final missing piece of the 18 Fold — official photos in different colorways. After the red one we saw in early September, Warm Gold White and black have now been added.
A hinge that’s almost invisible
Xiaomi 18 Fold is a mid-fold device, meaning it folds in half like a wallet. Xiaomi highlights its very narrow symmetrical hinge — both halves are equally thick, and after folding there’s no visible gap between them.
The body is completed with large rounded corners and a flat frame that wraps around the entire perimeter. On the back, a distinctive photo module sits in the Leica running-track shape. That black version looks the most understated, while Warm Gold White is clearly the more representative option.
The inner display has a paper-like aspect ratio
The outer display has a 5.38-inch panel, the inner one is 7.58 inches. But what’s more interesting is its shape — Xiaomi gave it an aspect ratio of square root of 2 to 1, which matches the aspect ratio of standard A4 office paper. When reading documents and the web, the screen area comes out better than on more square-like foldables.
Both panels rely on Super Pixel tech with full RGB layout and a top brightness of 4,000 nits. The inner display also has an anti-reflective layer designed to limit glare when working outdoors.
200 MPx Leica and a chip people are waiting for
The cameras were developed in collaboration with Leica. The main sensor has 200 MPx and a 1/1.56-inch sensor size; it’s paired with a 50 MPx periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom and a 50 MPx ultra-wide camera. The photo module also features the Leica Vario-Summilux optics branding.
Under the hood, the custom Xiaomi XRING O3 chip debuts, along with LPDDR6 memory, which no other phone has yet. The battery has 6,000 mAh and charges at 67 W wired or 50 W wirelessly — for a foldable with this kind of specs, that’s actually a rather modest figure.
The premiere is tomorrow, but it won’t reach us
Xiaomi 18 Fold will be unveiled September 7 at the autumn premiere, alongside the Pad 9 Pro Max tablet and three electric cars. Bad news for us remains, though — the phone will be sold exclusively in China, just like the XRING O3 chip that powers it.
If you’re wondering what we already know about the foldable, we’ve summarized its specs in a separate article. Xiaomi prices will be announced tomorrow.
