The well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station shared the specs of an alleged engineering prototype of a smartphone Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. If these specifications are confirmed, Xiaomi is preparing one of the most ambitious Android smartphones of recent years.
Updated: Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have already been officially unveiled — you can find their final specs and prices in our article from the launch.
The biggest Xiaomi community in Slovakia
The leak suggests the manufacturer will focus mainly on camera hardware, battery life, and maximum performance. The device is expected to get a new 2 nm processor, a pair of 200 MP cameras, a battery with a capacity of over 8000 mAh, and support for 100 W charging. It’s of course still only a prototype, but leaks from Digital Chat Station have been very accurate in the past.
A pair of 200 MP cameras
The biggest attraction of the upcoming model is definitely the camera setup. According to the leak, Xiaomi will use a main 200 MP sensor with LOFIC technology, which should deliver a higher dynamic range and better results in low-light conditions.

It should be paired with another 200 MP telephoto lens with tele-macro support. Fans were especially impressed by this one. The leaker says it will be able to focus at a very short distance of about 30 centimeters, so besides quality zooming it will also enable detailed macro photos without needing a separate lens. If this information is confirmed, it will be one of the most interesting camera combinations in the smartphone segment.
A 2 nm processor and a battery of more than 8000 mAh
The new device is said to be built on an yet-unannounced flagship chip made using a modern 2 nm manufacturing process. This should bring higher performance with lower power consumption, which—together with a huge battery of more than 8000 mAh—promises outstanding battery life on a single charge.

It also shouldn’t miss support for 100 W wired charging as well as wireless charging. Xiaomi is reportedly also working on a more powerful cooling system, larger stereo speakers, and a new vibration motor designed to deliver even more precise haptic feedback.
A beautiful display with minimal bezels
According to available information, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will get a completely new flat display with very narrow symmetric bezels. The design is expected to use rounded corners, and the manufacturer is reportedly preparing its own panel with high sharpness and top-tier brightness.

Even though the exact diagonal is not known yet, it’s expected to be in the absolute top tier, similar to current Xiaomi flagship models. Fans will also be happy that the flat panel is being kept, which is gaining popularity fast.
A premium setup also means a higher price
Digital Chat Station itself suggested that combining such powerful hardware naturally increases manufacturing costs. That’s why it’s reasonable to expect the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max to be among the most expensive smartphones in the brand’s history.
For comparison, the current Xiaomi 17 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 7500 mAh battery, 100 W charging, and a triple-camera setup. The upcoming generation should push practically all key specs to an even higher level.
However, it’s worth noting that all the information above comes from an engineering prototype. Xiaomi may adjust individual components during development or even change some features entirely. There’s still plenty of time before the official announcement, so the final device design may differ from today’s specifications.
