Xiaomi 18T is getting revealed before anyone has even shown it. The numbers point to this presentation date

Quick summary

  • In the GSMA database, Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro appeared, complete with model numbers.
  • Xiaomi 18T has three versions — China, global, and India — and the code name „sanjose”.
  • The numbers in the naming hint at a release in January to February 2027.
  • That would be a sooner launch than what we’re used to with the T series.
  • Nothing is known yet about the chips or specs — not a thing.

The new T-series generation was announced in the most boring possible way — a line in the database. The XimiTime portal found in the GSMA association database entries for the models Xiaomi 18T and 18T Pro. The parameters aren’t there, though the model numbers reveal something that’s more interesting to us: when the phones will likely be shown.

Six model numbers and one code name

For Xiaomi 18T, three designations appeared at once — M299EA for China, 27022PT99G for the global market, and 27022PT99I for India. Alongside that, a code name „sanjose” was added — another entry in the collection where Xiaomi names phones based on locations.

The top-end 18T Pro in the database looks more modest for now: it has a global 27016PT45G and a regional variant 27016PT45R. The Chinese designation or a code name hasn’t been found yet, which at this stage of development isn’t unusual — they’re added gradually.

The first four digits indicate the date

Here’s where it gets interesting. Xiaomi encodes the estimated launch month into its model numbers, and in this case 2701 points to January 2027 and 2702 to February 2027. So the series should be introduced in the first quarter of next year.

Xiaomi 17T Pro

If it pans out, it would be a shift compared to the current rhythm. Xiaomi 15T arrived in September 2025, and 17T and 17T Pro were introduced globally only at the very end of May this year. A January or February launch would therefore mean Xiaomi moves the T series closer to the start of the year.

What we don’t know yet

Pretty much everything that matters. The GSMA database is used to register devices, not to publish specs — there isn’t a word about chips, displays, batteries, or cameras. It’s also unclear whether the dates from the model numbers will actually come true; Xiaomi has moved them multiple times in the past.

If you’re interested in the T series, it’s worth checking the current generation in the meantime. We went through it properly — in our mega review of the Xiaomi 17T Pro, we verified the model using more than 120 European sources and also showed its weak points, not just the 7000 mAh battery and Leica cameras.

Xiaomi 17T Pro

In the photos in this article, Xiaomi 17T Pro is from our review — the current generation. No one knows yet what 18T will look like. The first real images and specs typically show up about two months before the launch, so we’ll have to wait until the end of the year.
