A few days ago, through an article we informed you about leaks of a new Redmi smartphone.
The device had the working name Redmi Karna and, according to available information, the smartphone was set to feature a 144 Hz display, a Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ chipset, and a 64 MPx IMX686 sensor. The latest leaks only confirm these claims.
Dimensity 1000+ will debut
Verified Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station posted an update pointing to the arrival of a new smartphone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. That exact chipset is listed in the specs for the Karna devices.
The Dimensity 1000+ chipset is set to compete with the flagship Snapdragon 865 in terms of its specifications. What’s interesting is that the Dimensity 1000+ chipset is the only one that supports dual 5G connectivity on two SIM cards at the same time.
The processor works together with eight cores. The first 4 highest-performance ones are Cortex-A77 and run at a maximum frequency of 2,6 GHz, while the remaining power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores operate at a clock speed of 2 GHz. Its high performance is driven by the latest 7 nm technology.
The graphics task is handled again by a very powerful Mali-G77 MC9, which can handle even the most demanding games. This combination supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz at Full HD resolution, so another parameter from the Karna device list is also confirmed.
Whether a new Redmi smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset will indeed arrive alongside a 144 Hz display remains to be seen for now, but the details will probably be revealed as early as July this year.
Another interesting aspect is the expected price of this smartphone, which for the base model should be around 2000 yuan, which is about €250 / 6650 Kč.
