Redmi is working on its next powerful smartphone: Dimensity 1000+, a 144 Hz display, and a 64 MPx camera

Year after year, Xiaomi and its Redmi offshoot roll out an enormous number of smartphones. Most of them land in the upper mid-range, but some specs also reach into more premium territory.

One proof of the well-loaded setup is the recently unveiled Redmi 10X model line, but based on the latest leaks, we know that a new smartphone from the secret project “Redmi Karna“ will join them soon.

144 Hz display and a flagship processor

The well-known and trusted source Xiaomishka published a poster on his page that contains the codename of the upcoming model – Redmi Karna. He also lists the presence of 3 key parameters.

The first great piece of news is the use of a display with an unbelievable refresh rate of 144 Hz. 144 Hz is currently a privilege reserved only for the most premium models, such as the gaming beast Nubia RedMagic 5G.

In Xiaomi and Redmi’s current portfolio, there isn’t a smartphone with such a high refresh rate. The Redmi K30 was getting partially close to this value, but the 24 Hz still remained missing.

Next, Xiaomishka claims that the new model under the codename Redmi Karna will bring a flagship-class processor from MediaTek – MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. The Dimensity lineup belongs to the most powerful in the company’s portfolio.

Specifically, this chipset can compete in performance with the top-tier Snapdragon 865 5G. It’s found in every flagship model for 2020, but the killer flagships also got it under the hood of Poco F2 Pro.

The last of the currently known parameters is the type of the main sensor. It’s expected to use one of the best and highest-quality sensors: Sony IMX686. This sensor has already appeared in many other models, where it fully showcased its strengths.
