Xiaomi again plans to launch a new product. This time, however, it won’t be a smartphone, but a monitor with 4K resolution. The Chinese giant calls it “truly professional”
A treat for professionals
The arrival of this professional monitor was confirmed directly by Xiaomi, by posting a poster. It will be a 4K monitor with an as-yet unknown screen size, but rumors say 27 inches. Xiaomi wants to impress with specs like 99% coverage of DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts.
From these leaked specifications, we can assume that this monitor would suit creators and designers when editing photos or editing video.
From the poster, we can also read the presentation date. It should take place as early as 4th December, so still before the launch of the new flagships with the Xiaomi 12 branding.
From the poster, we can tell that the monitor will come with thin bezels and a slightly wider chin. Speculation claims that, thanks to native 4K resolution, it should support Dolby Vision and HDR10+. In addition, a PANTONE certification was also revealed, which is used precisely for professional monitors to ensure the most accurate color display.
Gamers will also get their share
A user named Mukul Sharma on his Twitter account posted the information that he managed to get the model number that the Xiaomi Gaming Monitor 27 should carry. This was revealed by a German company that checks visual comfort and blue-light filtering.
The model number is XMMNT27EU. By having this monitor handled by a German company, we can infer that it’s a product intended for the European market, which is also evident from the EU model number suffix.
We don’t yet know whether these are identical models or two different ones. The gaming model should be intended primarily for gamers and owners of the latest gaming consoles. The second model should be used mainly by designers and professionals who demand the best and highest-quality image.
Xiaomi has several monitors in its portfolio, from basic to gaming, but none is exclusively aimed at professionals—which is exactly what this new release could change.
