Xiaomi’s preparations are peaking and very soon we should get the top model Xiaomi 12 Ultra. However, as we’re learning, it won’t be the only model with Qualcomm’s best chip.
Portal Xiaomiui managed to find out that Xiaomi is planning at least two more models in which it would mount a not-yet-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor.
It won’t be only the Ultra
Its debut should take place in the Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone, which will be focused mainly on photography, but it could also bring a special mode for shooting the night sky and star movement.
An unofficial date for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra model was leaked: 10. May. It’s already practically confirmed that the Ultra will use this exact processor.
Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro
It’s being said that Xiaomi will launch improved versions of its flagships, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, and add the letter S to them—apparently inspired by American Apple.
Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro would be the next two models with this new processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor itself could be unveiled in May, and the first smartphones with it could arrive as early as the following month in June.
The Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro models have been registered in the register IMEI under the designations Diting and Unicom. Their model markings are 2206123SC and 2206122SC. The ending letter C means the models are intended for the domestic Chinese market.
We’ll have to wait for more information
Besides the used processor, we don’t have any new info yet. This light update to the Xiaomi 12 series seems to be aimed primarily at performance, which would make sense. We’re curious whether these updates will reach our market too.
