Quick summary

  • Redmi Turbo 6 Max reportedly comes with a 7-inch 2K display
  • Refresh rate around 185 Hz
  • Bezel on all sides around 1 mm
  • It should launch globally as POCO X9 Pro Max

Redmi Turbo 6 Max, which outside China will become POCO X9 Pro Max, is said to get a display like the one you’ll find today first in flagship phones. According to the Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, it will have a roughly 7-inch flat panel with 2K resolution and a refresh rate around 185 Hz. Redmi hasn’t confirmed any of this yet.

Bezel around one millimeter

The tipster also mentions LIPO technology, which mainly narrows the bottom bezel, so the display edges will be equally thin on all four sides. With Turbo 6 Max, the bezels should be about 1 mm thick, and the corners should be noticeably rounded, while the panel is expected to support the BT.2020 color space and deliver high brightness with low power consumption. Digital Chat Station called it a truly flagship display.

So far, LIPO technology has appeared mostly in more expensive phones, and in the Turbo line it would be a novelty. The current Max model has 120 Hz, so 185 Hz would be a big difference.

Compared to Turbo 5 Max, the display and the battery will both grow

The Chinese Redmi Turbo 5 Max launched at the beginning of this year with a 6,83-inch AMOLED display with 1,5K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by the Dimensity 9500s chip, and you can charge the 9 000 mAh battery with 100 W charging power. The global POCO X8 Pro Max derived from it has the same chip and charging, but a smaller battery with a capacity of 8 550 mAh.

Older leaks from the same tipster say that Turbo 6 Max will have a battery over 10 000 mAh and again the Dimensity 9500s chip. Other reports mention a metal frame, IP68 and IP69 resistance, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, and only a dual camera setup on the back. Charging speed and camera sensor details are not known yet.

Redmi is testing up to four 7-inch phones

Turbo 6 Max might not be the only one. According to the website XiaomiTime, Digital Chat Station says Redmi is testing four big phones with 7-inch displays and batteries around 10 000 mAh. The first of them could arrive as early as the first half of next year. Meanwhile, most of today’s flagship phones, for example Xiaomi 17 Ultra or iPhone 17 Pro Max, have a display around 6.9 inches.

Turbo 5 Max debuted in China in January, and the successor could come around the same time, though that hasn’t been confirmed yet either. This estimate also matches Xiaomi’s system code, in which the POCO X9 Pro Max appeared under the codename denver with model number 27011PC78G. According to Xiaomi conventions, the first four digits point to January 2027, as we wrote in the article about POCO X9 Pro in Xiaomi code.

Among the planned markets, the code also includes the European Economic Area, so the POCO X9 Pro Max should reach us the same way as the current X8 Pro Max that you can buy from European warehouses. However, for the European version you should expect the battery to be smaller than in China, as with the predecessor.
