At the July conference in China, Xiaomi unveiled quite a lot of new products. The spotlight went to the Xiaomi 12S smartphone series, along with several high-performance Wi-Fi routers, and of course there was also an anticipated laptop Xiaomi Book Pro 16.
As the device name makes clear, the new notebook from the Chinese giant offers a large 16″ display, and the laptop doesn’t lag behind at all on the design side either. Together with a great price, it’s a very tempting piece.

Elegant and minimalist
The newly introduced Xiaomi Book Pro 16 laptop is made from quality, durable materials that give the notebook a hefty dose of premium feel. The laptop is only 14,9 millimeters thick, making it truly compact.
You’ve also upgraded the touchpad itself, which will now deliver a much better response to touch.
Once you open the laptop, a beautiful 16″ Samsung E4 OLED display with a 4K resolution will be waiting for you, with up to 600 nits brightness and support for Dolby Vision. The screen is also touch-enabled, so you’ll be able to use your notebook even more efficiently.
Performance definitely won’t be missing
Xiaomi introduced the new Xiaomi Book Pro 16 in two high-performance configurations:
- Intel Core i5-1240P | 16 GB RAM LPDDR5 | 512 GB SSD storage
- Intel Core i7-1260P | 16 GB RAM LPDDR5 | 512 GB SSD storage | RTX 2050 graphics card
Both configurations come with Intel EVO certification, so you definitely don’t have to worry about delivering a top-tier user experience and long-lasting performance. The laptop is also equipped with a large 70 Wh battery, providing up to 12 hours of runtime. A 100 W GaN charger then takes care of fast and efficient charging.

At the event, next to the 16″ version, a smaller sibling was also unveiled, called Xiaomi Book Pro 14. It features a smaller 14″ display, which can be a better alternative for people who are always on the go or generally moving around.
The smaller model from the pair offers the previously mentioned 14″ OLED display with a resolution of 2.8K and a refresh rate up to 90 Hz. The screen is also touch-enabled, with a maximum brightness of 600 nits, a contrast ratio of 1 000 000:1 and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
Up to three variants
The new Xiaomi Book Pro 14 arrives in up to three performance configurations:
- Intel Core i5-1240P | 16 GB RAM LPDDR5 | 512 GB SSD storage
- Intel Core i5-1240P | 16 GB RAM LPDDR5 | 512 GB SSD storage | MX550 graphics card
- Intel Core i7-1260P | 16 GB RAM LPDDR5 | 512 GB SSD storage | RTX 2050 graphics card
The Intel EVO certification, just like in the previous example, is also not missing here. In this case, the laptop’s battery life is a bit shorter compared to the 16″ model. The 56 Wh battery offers 10 hours of runtime on a single charge, while the 100 W GaN charger remains unchanged.
