Back in April, Xiaomi 2022 introduced a brand-new controller, the Xiaomi GamePad Elite Edition, made for gamers. The biggest surprise is the support for the Steam platform. We know where you can buy it for the best market price.

Gaming controller with gyroscope
The design leans more toward controllers from the PlayStation 5 gaming console. Xiaomi released it exclusively in white. On the right side, you’ll find the classic A, B, X, Y buttons. On the left, there’s an analog stick that moves in all directions.
You’ll also find it in the middle section on the right side. This button layout again reminds you of the Xbox platform. A classic D-pad and other control buttons are also included.
All buttons have been tested for at least one million presses, so they shouldn’t wear out that easily. The controller features a built-in 6-axis gyroscopic sensor called InvenSense, providing touch-sensing controls.
Made for computers, but also for smartphones
And now for compatibility. The Xiaomi GamePad Elite Edition supports both the Windows platform and the gaming platform Steam. You can connect it to your PC either via the Bluetooth 5.0 interface or via the included USB receiver.
Besides that, you can also pair it with smart TVs, as well as your Android smartphone and tablet. The package also includes a holder where you can mount your smartphone for the most comfortable gaming.
It’s a wireless controller, but Xiaomi doesn’t state its battery life anywhere. The plus side is that you can charge it using the modern USB-C connector, which is definitely a nice touch.
Price and availability
The price of the Xiaomi GamePad Elite Edition controller in China is set at 399 yuan, which is about 58 euros. The crowdfunding campaign started on April 27, and at that time the controller price was at 329 yuan, which is 47 euros.
Even though the product has only been presented so far for the domestic Chinese market, we assume that well-known international sellers—like our partner Banggood—will soon add this gamepad to their lineup. As soon as that happens, we’ll definitely let you know and we’ll also provide some interesting coupon.
