Xiaomi is introducing new products as part of the Mi Fan Festival 2020 celebrations. On this occasion, two upgraded smart cameras were also unveiled with several products.
High 2K resolution
The new cameras are named Xiaomi Mi Smart Camera 2K and Xiaomi Mi Smart Camera Pro. Both cameras come with an f/1.4 aperture sensor, which is the largest aperture ever used in Xiaomi cameras.
The cameras record at up to 2 304 × 1 296 pixels, which is 2K. To improve visibility in poor lighting conditions, the manufacturer used 6 lenses, so more light reaches the sensor.
A built-in speaker with a microphone is included, allowing you to make two-way calls through the cameras. The smart cameras communicate reliably with the Mi Home app. The cameras can save photos to an SD card, upload them to the cloud, or upload them to a personal NAS server.
Main differences
Between these two cameras, we see two most fundamental differences. The first difference is in communication. The Pro version can communicate through the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi band as well as via Bluetooth. The base version allows connection only via 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi.
The biggest difference between these cameras is smart human detection. The Base 2K version can detect a moving object. The Pro version not only can detect a moving object, but it can also detect whether the tracked object is a person. Both cameras can track the object by rotating 360°, enabled by the mobile base.
On sale
Sales in China will start as early as 9/04/2020, with the price of the basic 2K version set at 199 yuan, or about 26 € / 715 Kč, while the Pro version will cost 249 yuan, equivalent to 33 € / 895 Kč.
We believe that international sellers will soon add these cameras to their offers, and of course we’ll keep you posted.
