Today is the day that many Xiaomi fans have been eagerly waiting for. At a press conference in China, several new products were unveiled. Among the news, a vertical wireless charger and a third-generation power bank with solid performance also appeared.
We already covered the products in an article about the Mi 9 Pro, but in this one we’ll look at them in detail.
New phones, plus new accessories
The biggest draws of today’s press conference were smartphones and new smart TVs. A new series 4K Xiaomi MI TV Pro was introduced, as well as the revolutionary smart phone Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha and the improved mi “nine” Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G.
And since the new devices also support wireless charging at 30 W, an accessory was also unveiled that will let us use this charging method.
Vertical wireless 30 W charger
The novelty is a high-performance wireless charger that can charge smartphones and other supported devices wirelessly, up to as high as 30 W. The special thing is the design of the new device.
The charger has the shape of a vertical stand, where you place your smartphone in a vertical position. The new wireless charger has a slight tilt so the charging phone is supported safely.
The purpose of this design is improved heat dissipation that occurs during high-power wireless charging. The device is air-cooled and the new design of the air channels carries the heat away directly, without passing through the coil.
Cooling is additionally helped by a built-in ultra-quiet fan. According to Xiaomi, this construction ensures more efficient heat dissipation, making charging safer. The vertical air-cooled wireless charger with 30 W will be sold in China for 199 yuan, which after conversion is about €26 / 674 CZK.
Xiaomi Mi Powerbank 3 with 50 W power
The Xiaomi Mi Powerbank 3 has a capacity of 20 000 mAh and supports super fast charging, the so-called „Super flash charge“ charging with up to 50 W. It’s compatible with common digital devices and can charge three devices at the same time – feel free to charge a laptop and two other smartphones.
What’s interesting is that it can also charge a low-power laptop, while two mobile phones are charged simultaneously. The launch price of this new product is 299 yuan – after conversion, approx. 39 € / 1 010 kč. The sales start date for both chargers hasn’t been announced yet.
